neskmic is a contemporary indie pop group originating from Zagreb, Croatia, that formed in 2015. The band combines lo‑fi production elements with melodic guitar hooks to create a sound that resonates with both local and international audiences. Their name, pronounced “neh‑skuh‑mee,” is a play on the word “neskumbrić” meaning “earth’s hum,” reflecting their sonic aesthetic.

The founding members include lead vocalist and guitarist Luka Marović, bassist Anja Kovač, drummer Marko Petrović, and keyboardist Filip Ostojić. After a series of self‑released EPs, the group achieved wider recognition with their debut album, Echoes in the Valley, which topped the Croatian Independent Records (CIR) charts in 2018. Their subsequent releases, Harmonias and Skyline Serenades, expanded their fan base across Southeast Europe, garnering airplay on national radio stations like Radio 202 and playlists on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Deezer.

neskmic’s live performances are noted for their intimate stage presence and use of visual art projections. The group has shared stages with renowned acts such as Riblja Čorba, The 1975, and Balkan Brass Ensemble at festivals including EXIT and Utopia. In addition to their artistic output, neskmic engages in community projects, providing workshops on songwriting for youth in underserved neighborhoods in Zagreb. Their contribution to the local music scene has earned them the 2020 Creative Croatia Award in the Emerging Artists category.
