Neforselmaken is a Swedish term that refers to domestic abuse or violence in Swedish intestate family law. The term is derived from the words "neforsel" meaning community of goods and "maken" meaning husband.

In Swedish intestate family law, when a couple is married, their assets are automatically part of the community of goods. If one partner in the marriage dies, the other partner will automatically inherit all the assets owned by the deceased, including property, bank accounts and other assets. However, if the wife is the victim of abuse or violence, she may be entitled to make an application to the court for a separation of assets, a process colloquially known as "Neforselmaken".

The process of applying for a separation of assets due to being a victim of abuse or violence is still a well kept secret in Sweden. The trend is that women are seeking compensation or financial support more often when getting divorced because of the fact that they are often the ones who lose the most in divorce. This also shows that they feel insecure about their financial stability in the post divorce life and hence applies for compensation. This is often in line with recommendations made by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) which states that the children should be involved in the elites decision.
