ndodhet

Ndodhet is an Albanian verb form used to express location or occurrence. In everyday usage it translates roughly as “is located” when referring to places, and as “occurs” or “takes place” when describing events. It is a finite verb form used with a third-person singular subject, and it appears in descriptive or encyclopedic statements to convey where something is found or what happens.

In geographic or spatial contexts, ndodhet is common for stating location. For example, Sheshi ndodhet në qendër të qytetit means “The square is located in the city center.” It can also introduce the presence of an object in a place, as in Një muze ndodhet pranë lumit, meaning “A museum is located near the river.” The construction is typically followed by prepositional phrases such as në (in/on), pranë (near), or afër (close to).

Ndodhet is one of the standard ways to describe locations and arrangements in Albanian texts.
