Nacellekotelo is a Finnish term for the protective enclosure around a nacelle, the housing that contains and protects essential equipment such as aircraft engines or wind turbine drive trains. The word combines nacelle (the English term for the housing) and kotelo (Finnish for enclosure). In practice, the term is used to refer to the outer shell and associated structure that surrounds the enclosed hardware.

The nacellekotelo serves several functions. It provides weather protection, aerodynamics, and structural support for mounted components. It also houses cooling and ventilation paths, electrical wiring, and access for maintenance. In wind turbines, the nacellekotelo protects the generator, gearbox (in geared designs), and power electronics, while in aviation it encloses the engine and related systems, often integrating with the pylon and access doors for servicing.

Construction and design typically emphasize a balance between light weight, strength, and environmental resistance. Common materials include fiber-reinforced composites, aluminum alloys, and steel frames, with corrosion-resistant coatings and insulation as appropriate. The exterior is engineered for reduced aerodynamic drag and to withstand weather conditions, while interior panels and acoustic liners may help with noise reduction.
