Nõudluseks is an Estonian term that translates to "demand" in English, particularly in an economic context. It refers to the quantity of a good or service that consumers are willing and able to purchase at various prices during a specific period. Understanding nõudluseks is fundamental to economic analysis, as it, along with pakkumuseks (supply), determines market prices and quantities.

Several factors influence nõudluseks. Consumer income is a primary driver; as income rises, the nõudluseks for many goods (normal goods) increases, while for others (inferior goods), it may decrease. The price of related goods also plays a role. If the price of a substitute good rises, the nõudluseks for the original good is likely to increase. Conversely, if the price of a complementary good rises, the nõudluseks for the original good may fall. Consumer tastes and preferences, as well as expectations about future prices or availability, also shape nõudluseks.

The relationship between price and nõudluseks is typically inverse, a principle known as the law of nõudluseks. This means that, all other factors remaining constant, as the price of a good or service increases, the quantity demanded decreases, and vice versa. This relationship is often visualized through a nõudluseks curve, which slopes downward from left to right. Changes in the non-price determinants of nõudluseks cause shifts in the entire curve, indicating a change in demand itself, rather than just a change in the quantity demanded due to price fluctuations.
