Mozgástörvények, commonly translated as laws of motion, are fundamental principles in physics that describe the relationship between an object and the forces acting upon it, and its subsequent motion. These laws were first formulated by Sir Isaac Newton and are essential for understanding classical mechanics.

The first law of motion, also known as the law of inertia, states that an object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will continue in motion with a constant velocity unless acted upon by a net external force. This means that without any interference, an object's state of motion will not change.

The second law of motion establishes a quantitative relationship between force, mass, and acceleration. It states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it and inversely proportional to its mass. Mathematically, this is expressed as F = ma, where F represents the net force, m is the mass, and a is the acceleration.

The third law of motion, often referred to as the law of action and reaction, asserts that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means that whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first object. These three laws collectively form the bedrock of Newtonian mechanics and are crucial for predicting and explaining the movement of objects in everyday scenarios and in celestial mechanics.
