Mittespetrivärvide refers to a color that is not spectrally pure. In color science, spectral colors are those found in the rainbow, each corresponding to a specific wavelength of light. For example, pure red, pure green, and pure blue are spectral colors. Mittespetrivärvide, on the other hand, are colors that are composed of a mixture of different wavelengths of light.

Most colors we perceive in everyday life are mittespetrivärvide. For instance, brown is a mittespetrivärvide because it is typically created by mixing a dark color with an orange or red hue. Similarly, pink is a mittespetrivärvide, often made by mixing red with white.
