The choice of units is crucial for consistency and precision in measurements. The SI system is widely used globally due to its coherence and the ease with which it can be applied across different fields. However, other systems of units, such as the Imperial system and the US customary system, are also in use, particularly in certain industries and regions. Conversion between different systems of units is essential for accurate communication and understanding of measurements.
