metrický

Metický is a Czech adjective that historically relates to measures and the concept of metric systems. In modern standard Czech, the commonly used form to express this idea is metrický. Metlický appears mainly as a nonstandard, archaic, or regional variant and is rarely found in current academic or technical writing.

Etymology and related forms. The root derives from the word for measure, metr (from Latin metricus, via French métrique, and ultimately from Greek metron). The standard Czech adjectival form built from this root is metrický, with feminine metrická, neuter metrické. Dictionaries and contemporary texts typically favor metrický when describing something relating to metrics, measurement, or the metric system.
