Meria is a fictional coastal city-state in the world of Eldara. Located on a crescent harbor along the southern Valen Sea, Meria serves as a commercial and scholarly center. The city has an estimated population of about 70,000 and functions as the administrative seat of the Merian Council.

Geography and climate: The harbor is protected by natural breakwaters, and the city expands from a medieval core into terraced districts on surrounding hills. The climate is temperate, with dry summers and mild, wet winters.

History and government: Meria began as a fishing village and grew through maritime trade and shipyards. It attained city-state status in the late 17th century and is now governed by the Merian Council, led by a prefect. Policy is conducted through commissions for commerce, culture, and security.

Economy and infrastructure: The harbor handles bulk cargo, passenger ferries, and fishing fleets. Principal industries include shipbuilding, timber, textiles, and wine from nearby estates. A modern transit network links the old port with the High Quarter via a light rail and regular ferries.
