memkan

Memkan is a verb form that appears in Indonesian language but is not considered standard. It is generally regarded as a nonstandard or erroneous variant of memakan, which means to eat or to consume. The standard form memakan is derived from the root makan with the prefix me- and the suffix -kan, and is used to describe transitively the action of eating something, for example, Ia memakan buah itu. The phrase memakan waktu means “to take time” or “to require time,” as in Proyek itu memakan waktu lama.

In formal writing and dictionaries, memkan is typically not listed as a separate entry and is often treated as a misspelling or regional/archaic variant of memakan.
