Megbízottként is a Hungarian legal term that translates to "as an authorized representative" or "as a mandatary." It refers to a person who acts on behalf of another party based on a mandate or authorization. This relationship is typically established through a contract called a megbízási szerződés, or mandate contract.

In a megbízási szerződés, one party (the megbízó, or principal) tasks another party (the megbízott, or mandatary) with performing a specific action or a series of actions. The mandatary is generally expected to carry out these duties diligently and in accordance with the principal's instructions. Unlike an employment contract, a mandate contract does not typically establish an employer-employee relationship. The mandatary is often an independent contractor, responsible for their own taxes and social security contributions.

The scope of the mandate can vary widely, encompassing a broad range of activities. For example, a company might engage a megbízott to represent them in negotiations, to carry out a specific project, or to provide professional services. An individual might appoint a megbízott to manage their financial affairs or to handle legal matters.
