Marxians refers to individuals who adhere to or are inspired by the theories and ideas of Karl Marx. Marx was a German philosopher, economist, historian, sociologist, political theorist, journalist, and socialist revolutionary. His critique of capitalism and his theory of historical materialism laid the foundation for Marxism.

At the core of Marxian thought is the concept of class struggle. Marx argued that throughout history, societies have been characterized by conflict between different social classes, primarily between the bourgeoisie (the owners of the means of production) and the proletariat (the working class).
