Magnetlyftar, also known as magnetic lifters or magnetic cranes, are devices used to lift and move ferrous (iron-containing) materials. They utilize powerful magnets to create a strong attractive force that can hold onto loads without the need for chains, hooks, or straps. This makes them particularly useful for handling items that are difficult to grip with conventional lifting equipment, such as sheet metal, pipes, and irregularly shaped objects.

The operation of a magnetlyft is straightforward. An electric current is passed through a coil of wire, generating a magnetic field. When the magnet is brought close to a ferrous object, the magnetic field attracts the material, allowing it to be lifted. Reversing the current or deactivating the magnetic field releases the load. Some magnetlyftar employ permanent magnets, which do not require electricity to generate their magnetic field, but typically have a mechanism to disengage the magnetism.

Magnetlyftar come in various designs and capacities, suitable for lifting loads ranging from a few kilograms to several tons. They are commonly found in manufacturing plants, scrap yards, construction sites, and warehouses.
