lépésének

Lépésének is a Hungarian inflected form derived from the noun lépés (step, pace). It marks possession by a third-person singular subject and is used when describing something belonging to someone in relation to a step, movement, or cadence. In neutral prose, lépésének functions as “his/her/its step” and can appear in constructions where the possessive relation is made explicit.

Morphology and form. The form is created by applying the 3rd-person possessive suffix to lépés and combining it with the surrounding grammatical needs of the sentence, producing lépésének. This form commonly appears before another noun to produce a possessive phrase, such as lépésének nyoma or lépésének üteme. The exact case (genitive or dative-like function) depends on the syntactic role in the sentence.

Usage and meaning. Lépesének appears primarily in descriptive or narrative writing, especially when the author wants to foreground whose movement or tempo is being referred to.
