Lysogeeninen refers to a specific type of viral replication cycle known as the lysogenic cycle. This cycle is a characteristic of bacteriophages, viruses that infect bacteria. In the lysogenic cycle, the viral DNA, or prophage, integrates into the host bacterium's chromosome. It does not immediately take over the host's machinery to produce new virus particles.
