Lukuvuoden is a Finnish term that translates to "school year" or "academic year." It refers to the annual period during which educational institutions operate. In Finland, the lukuvuoden typically begins in mid-August and concludes in late May or early June. It is divided into two semesters, called syyslukukausi (autumn semester) and kevätlukukausi (spring semester). Each semester includes periods of instruction interspersed with holidays.
The autumn semester usually starts in August and ends in December, followed by a Christmas holiday. The
