loogikavärava

Loogikavärav is the Estonian term for a logic gate. Logic gates are fundamental building blocks of digital circuits and are electronic devices that perform a basic logical function on one or more binary inputs and produce a single binary output. The output is the result of a Boolean function of the inputs. Common logic gates include AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, XOR, and XNOR.

An AND gate outputs a HIGH (1) only if all of its inputs are HIGH. An OR gate outputs a HIGH if at least one of its inputs is HIGH. A NOT gate, also known as an inverter, outputs the opposite of its input; if the input is HIGH, the output is LOW, and vice versa. NAND (Not AND) gates output LOW only if all inputs are HIGH, and HIGH otherwise. NOR (Not OR) gates output HIGH only if all inputs are LOW. XOR (Exclusive OR) gates output HIGH if the inputs are different, and LOW if they are the same. XNOR (Exclusive NOR) gates output HIGH if the inputs are the same, and LOW if they are different.

These gates are implemented using transistors. By combining logic gates in various configurations, more complex digital circuits can be constructed, forming the basis for microprocessors, memory units, and virtually all other digital electronic systems. Understanding the function of each loogikavärav is crucial for designing and analyzing digital electronics.
