Longaderen is a term sometimes used to refer to the saphenous veins, particularly the great saphenous vein, which is the longest vein in the body. These superficial veins run along the inner side of the leg and thigh. The great saphenous vein originates from the dorsal venous arch of the foot and ascends up the leg, passing in front of the medial malleolus, then running up the medial side of the tibia and femur. It typically drains into the femoral vein in the groin area via the saphenofemoral junction.
