ljusbågsugn
A ljusbågsugn, or electric arc furnace (EAF), is a type of industrial furnace that heats by means of an electric arc. EAFs are commonly used in steelmaking and other high-temperature processes. The primary components of an EAF include a refractory-lined vessel, a set of electrodes, and a power supply. The electrodes are typically made of graphite and are lowered into the furnace. When a high electric current is passed through the electrodes, it creates an electric arc between the electrodes and the material being heated, generating intense heat that can reach temperatures exceeding 3000 degrees Celsius.
In steelmaking, EAFs are often used to melt scrap steel and then refine it into new steel
