lipidmembránok
Lipidmembránok, commonly known as biological membranes or cell membranes, are fundamental structures in all living organisms. They form the boundary of cells and organelles, regulating the passage of substances into and out of these compartments. The primary component of lipid membranes is the lipid bilayer, a two-layered arrangement of phospholipid molecules. Each phospholipid has a hydrophilic (water-attracting) head and two hydrophobic (water-repelling) tails. In an aqueous environment, these molecules spontaneously arrange themselves with their hydrophilic heads facing outwards towards the water and their hydrophobic tails facing inwards, away from the water, forming a stable bilayer.
Embedded within or attached to this lipid bilayer are various proteins, collectively known as membrane proteins.
