limpiasteis

Limpiasteis is a form sometimes seen written for the Spanish verb limpiar, but it is generally considered nonstandard. The standard second-person plural preterite form in Spain and most teachings is limpiasteis. Limpiasteis is often described as a misspelling or regional variation of this form.

In standard Spanish, the preterite conjugation of limpiar is: yo limpié, tú limpiaste, él/ella/usted limpió, nosotros limpiamos, vosotros limpiasteis, ellos/ellas/ustedes limpiaron. The correct vosotros form is limpiasteis, as in “Ayer vosotros limpiasteis la casa.” In many Latin American dialects, the vosotros form is not used, and ustedes form for the preterite is limpiaron (e.g., “Hoy ustedes limpiaron la casa”).

Limpiasteis may appear in informal writing or as a habitual spelling error among learners or speakers influenced by phonetic or regional pronunciation patterns. Some language references note it as a nonstandard variant rather than a recognized form.
