leísteis

Leísteis is the second-person plural form of the verb leer in the pretérito indefinido (also called pretérito perfecto simple) in Spanish. It corresponds to "you all read" in the past and is used to describe a completed action by a group. This form is characteristic of the vosotros form, which is common in Spain and some other regions that use the vosotros pronoun.

Conjugation (preterite of leer, vosotros)

- yo leí

- tú leíste

- él/ella/usted leyó

- nosotros leímos

- vosotros leísteis

- ellos/ellas/ustedes leyeron

Notes on usage and regional variation

Leísteis is mainly employed in Spain, where the vosotors form is standard for informal plural second person.

Examples

- Ayer leísteis un artículo interesante. (Yesterday you all read an interesting article.)

- ¿Qué leísteis durante el viaje? (What did you all read during the trip?)
