During Laukaisujärjes participants gather in open fields or roadside villages to perform communal dances, music, and storytelling. The event is known for its distinctive use of the kantele, a traditional plucked zither, and for the “vent – pulse” chant that encourages communal breathing. Local artisans also display traditional crafts such as woodcarving and textile weaving, and the market stalls sell seasonal produce, especially berries and root vegetables that are harvested at the time of the celebration.

Modern iterations of Laukaisujärjes combine the historic elements with contemporary environmental consciousness, promoting sustainable practices such as composting and renewable energy demonstrations.
