languageen

Languageen is a constructed language (conlang) designed for international communication and linguistic experimentation. It was created in 2003 by a group of linguists and hobbyists, with goals of regular grammar and ease of acquisition for speakers of various language backgrounds. It operates as a neutral linguistic template free from national or cultural associations.

Phonology and writing. Phoneme inventory includes consonants: p, b, t, d, k, g, f, s, h, m, n, l, r, w, j; vowels: a, e, i, o, u. Syllable structure typically CV or CVC, stress on the penultimate syllable. Writing uses a Latin-based alphabet; orthography is mostly phonemic; diacritics can indicate stress or vowel quality in extended texts.

Grammar. Basic word order SVO; nouns do not encode gender; plural is marked with a suffix -en or by a plural determiner in the noun phrase. Adjectives follow nouns; verbs are inflected for tense with separate particles: past va-, present no-, future fu-. There are few irregularities; pronouns distinct for subject and object; articles none.

Lexicon, usage, and status. Vocabulary draws on multiple languages; designed to be easy to borrow words from others. It has an active online community with learning resources, text corpora, and a grammar guide. There is no official academy; standardization occurs through community consensus and reference materials. The language is primarily used in online communication, language-learning contexts, and conlang hobbyist circles.
