Landshlutinn is an Icelandic term that translates to "the region" or "the province." It is a general term used to refer to the administrative divisions within Iceland. Historically, Iceland was divided into several such regions. While these traditional divisions still hold some cultural and geographical significance, the current administrative structure of Iceland has evolved.
Today, Iceland is officially divided into eight regions. These regions are primarily used for statistical purposes
