Laatuakin is a fictional municipality in the northern archipelago of Valdoria, a coastal country in a contemporary fantasy setting. The town comprises five islands connected by causeways and a single ferry line, with a sheltered bay, rocky shores, and boreal forests.

The population is about 7,200. The community is diverse, with Valdorian as the primary language and several minority groups contributing to local culture. The economy historically relied on fishing and timber, and today includes small-scale manufacturing, ship repair, and a growing tourism sector centered on seascape, hiking, and cultural events.

Laatuakin was founded in the 17th century as a fishing village and expanded in the 19th century with timber trade. A major fire in 1932 reshaped the town’s architecture, leading to reinforced masonry and the development of a modern harbor.

Governance follows a mayor–council system within the Valdorian regional framework. Municipal services cover education, public safety, environmental protection, and cultural programs.

Landmarks include the Old Lighthouse of Norrstrand, the Saltworks Ruins, and the Blue Bridge, which connects the main islands. Annual events feature a midwinter seafaring festival and a summer harbor market that attracts visitors from across Valdoria.
