Könnyezés is a Hungarian term that translates to "crying" or "lacrimation" in English. It refers to the involuntary shedding of tears, which can be caused by a variety of factors. Medically, tears are produced by the lacrimal glands and serve to lubricate and protect the eyes. They also contain enzymes that help fight infection.

Emotional crying is a common and well-understood phenomenon associated with strong feelings such as sadness, joy, anger, or frustration.
