Kölcsönhatás (mutual influence; literally "mutual effect") is a term used in Hungarian to denote the general concept of interaction or reciprocal influence between two or more entities. The word derives from kölcsön- ("mutual, reciprocal") plus hatás ("effect"). In scientific and everyday usage, kölcsönhatás describes how the state or behavior of one object changes due to the presence or action of another.

In physics, an interaction is the fundamental mechanism by which fields or forces connect particles and bodies. Common examples include gravitational, electromagnetic, strong nuclear, and weak nuclear interactions.
