Kvanttihapotus, known in English as quantum entanglement, is a phenomenon in quantum mechanics where two or more particles become linked in such a way that they share the same fate, regardless of the distance separating them. This connection is established when particles interact, for instance, by being created together or passing through the same device.

Once entangled, the quantum states of these particles are intrinsically correlated. If a property of one particle, such as its spin or polarization, is measured, the corresponding property of the other entangled particle is instantaneously determined, even if they are light-years apart. This apparent faster-than-light influence led Albert Einstein to famously call it "spooky action at a distance."

Crucially, quantum entanglement does not allow for faster-than-light communication. While the state of a distant particle is known immediately upon measurement of its entangled partner, this knowledge cannot be used to transmit information. The outcome of any individual measurement remains random until it is performed.

Entanglement is a fundamental aspect of quantum theory and has significant implications for various fields. It forms the basis for emerging technologies like quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and quantum teleportation, all of which aim to harness this peculiar quantum connection for new applications.
