Kvantkompuutrite, also known as quantum computers, represent a fundamentally different approach to computation compared to classical computers. Instead of using bits that can represent either a 0 or a 1, quantum computers utilize quantum bits, or qubits. Qubits can exist in a superposition of both 0 and 1 simultaneously, allowing quantum computers to explore a vast number of possibilities in parallel.

Another key quantum phenomenon exploited by these machines is entanglement. When qubits are entangled, their states become correlated, meaning that measuring the state of one qubit instantaneously influences the state of the others, regardless of the distance separating them. This interconnectedness enables complex calculations and can lead to exponential speedups for certain types of problems.

The potential applications of quantum computers are extensive and include drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, and breaking modern encryption methods.
