Kunnallisäänestyslistat, often translated as municipal electoral lists, are fundamental documents in Finnish local elections. These lists contain the names of candidates who are standing for election to the municipal council. Each political party or independent group that has registered candidates for the municipality compiles its own list. The order of candidates on the list is determined by the party or group, but voters do not vote for the list as a whole. Instead, voters cast a direct vote for an individual candidate on any of the presented lists.
