Kuidutoptisia is a Finnish term used to describe fiber-optic technologies and devices that use light to transmit information through optical fibers made of glass or plastic. The underlying principle is total internal reflection: light travels through a high-refractive-index core surrounded by a lower-index cladding, allowing signals to be guided with low loss.
