Etymology and usage: Kortlagte is the past participle form used attributively, as in de kortlagte områdene (the mapped areas). In contemporary Norwegian, kartlagt is the more common past participle for the same idea. Kortlagte can still appear in older texts or in certain agencies and domains, but is less frequent in new writings.
