Koronararteri refers to the arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle itself. These are crucial blood vessels responsible for delivering oxygen-rich blood to the myocardium, enabling it to function and pump blood throughout the body. There are two main coronary arteries, the left and the right. The left coronary artery branches into two smaller arteries, the left anterior descending artery and the left circumflex artery. These arteries form a network around the heart, ensuring continuous nourishment.

Blockages or narrowing within the coronary arteries, often caused by the buildup of plaque (atherosclerosis), can significantly impede blood flow. This reduced blood flow is known as coronary artery disease (CAD).
