Koronaarveresooned refers to the coronary arteries, which are blood vessels that supply oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle. These arteries branch off from the aorta, the main artery that carries blood from the left ventricle of the heart to the rest of the body. The two main coronary arteries are the left main coronary artery and the right coronary artery. The left main coronary artery then divides into the left anterior descending artery and the left circumflex artery.

The heart muscle, like all other tissues in the body, needs a constant supply of oxygen and nutrients to function. The coronary arteries are responsible for delivering this vital supply.
