Korkeapäästösuodatin, often translated as a high-pass filter, is an electronic filter that allows higher frequencies to pass through while attenuating frequencies below a certain cutoff frequency. This cutoff frequency is a critical parameter that defines the point at which the filter begins to significantly reduce the amplitude of incoming signals.

The primary function of a high-pass filter is to remove low-frequency noise, direct current (DC) components, or unwanted bass frequencies from a signal.
