korában

korában is a Hungarian temporal expression meaning "in his/her/its time" or "in the era of." It functions as a locative temporal phrase, used to place an event or description within a particular period or the timeframe of a person or group.

The phrase is formed from the noun kor (time, era) together with the locative suffix -ban/-ben, and, in many uses, with a possessor to indicate whose time is being referred to. The typical meaning corresponds to "in [someone's] time." For example, koromban means "in my time," korodban "in your time," and korában "in his/her/its time." When referring to a historical period without a specific owner, Hungarian usually uses a bare noun with the locative suffix, such as római korban ("in the Roman era").

Usage examples include: A római korban sok város fejlődött. (In the Roman era, many cities developed.) Az ő korában más volt a társadalmi szokás. (In his/her time, social customs were different.)

Note that korában can be ambiguous without context; adding a determiner such as az ő or a római helps specify whose time or which era is meant.
