Koostaan is a term that appears in Finnic-language sources but does not have a widely established definition in standard dictionaries. It is sometimes encountered as a form related to the verb koosta- (to compose or assemble) in Finnish and its cognates in related languages, but the exact status of “koostaan” varies by dialect and source. Because of its limited and context-dependent usage, it is best treated as a potential inflected form rather than a separate lexical item.

In Finnish grammar, the primary verb is koostaa, with various inflected forms such as koosta- stems and person-specific endings. The form “koostaan” is not a common or mandated standard form in mainstream references, and when it does appear it may reflect dialectal variation, a nonstandard transcription, or an incorrect rendering of another form.
