Konvertirovat is a verb used in several Slavic languages to express the action of turning something into another form, state, or meaning. In computing and technology it frequently means transforming data or files from one format to another; in finance it denotes converting currencies or assets; in everyday language it can refer to changing measurements, units, or contexts. The term derives from Latin con- “together” and vertere “to turn,” and has entered many European languages through technical and scholarly contact, often adapting to local phonology and spelling.

Usage and variants vary by language. In Russian the standard form is konvertirovat’ (конвертировать); in Ukrainian the equivalent is konvertuvaty (конвертувати); in Serbian and Croatian there are forms such as konvertovati or konvertirati, depending on the orthography.
