Konténerts, also known as shipping containers, are standardized intermodal metal boxes used for the safe, efficient, and secure storage and transport of goods across long distances. The most common sizes for shipping containers are twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) and forty-foot equivalent units (FEUs). TEUs measure 20 feet in length, while FEUs are 40 feet long. These dimensions are standardized globally to ensure compatibility with container handling equipment and vessels. Containers are typically constructed from steel, making them durable and resistant to corrosion and damage. They feature a corrugated exterior for added strength and a large door at one end for loading and unloading.
