Kontrukcií is a term used in Slovak and related languages to denote constructions or structures, including the act of constructing and the final built form. The word derives from Latin constructio, through early Romance and Slavic language development, and has cognates in several languages that describe the creation and arrangement of parts into a whole.

In civil engineering and architecture, kontrukcie refer to frameworks, assemblies, and durable structures such as buildings, bridges, and towers, as well as the methods and processes used to assemble them. The concept also covers mechanical or industrial assemblies—frames, supports, housings, or machine structures—designed to bear loads and fulfill specified functions. The term encompasses both the design phase and the tangible result of construction.

In other disciplines, the term can be used more broadly to describe any organized arrangement of elements that serves a function, including linguistic constructions—patterns of words and phrases that convey meaning—and conceptual constructs in philosophy or theory. This wider sense highlights how structures organize components to produce a coherent system or outcome.
