KohdeIPosoitteen, which translates to "destination IP address" in Finnish, is a fundamental concept in computer networking. It refers to the specific numerical label assigned to a device participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. When a data packet is sent across a network, the destination IP address is crucial for directing that packet to its intended recipient.

Every device connected to a network, such as a computer, server, or smartphone, is assigned at least one IP address. This address acts like a unique identifier, similar to a postal address for mail.
