Koeaikana is a fictional archipelago created for worldbuilding and speculative fiction. It comprises twelve main islands and numerous smaller islets, located in the eastern seas of the imagined continent of Volara. The term is derived from a Koani language in the fictional setting, with koe meaning sea and aika meaning island.

Geography and environment: The archipelago spans roughly 1,200 square kilometers and features a mix of low-lying atolls, mangrove-fringed shores, and a few volcanic peaks. Coral reefs surround many islands, supporting a diverse marine ecosystem. The climate is tropical, with a wet season from May to October and generally warm temperatures year-round. Protected areas include several marine reserves and a central archipelago conservation zone.

History: Koeaikana was first settled by seafaring Koani peoples who developed reef navigation and boat-building techniques. Contact with external traders increased in the medieval period, followed by a period of foreign rule in the early modern era. Autonomy movements culminated in a peaceful transfer to a regional federation in the late 20th century, and Koeaikana now participates in regional governance through a council-based system.

Society and governance: Local island councils manage land and resource use, while a continental federation council handles inter-island affairs. The population is around 40,000, with bilingual Koani and lingua franca usage. Cultural life centers on fishing-based livelihoods, craft markets, and communal celebrations tied to the sea.
