Koduar is a constructed language (conlang) designed for use in speculative fiction and role-playing contexts. It was created by linguist Aiko Tanaka and first described publicly in 2007 as part of the world-building material for the fictional setting of Ardentis. Since its introduction, Koduar has been developed further by enthusiasts and has appeared in novels, tabletop games, and online learning resources.

Phonology and script: Koduar features a modest phoneme inventory, with around 20 consonants and five to seven vowels, depending on dialect. It employs vowel harmony in most dialects, with stress typically on the penultimate syllable. The writing system uses a Latin-based alphabet with diacritics to indicate vowel length and quality; some communities also use a syllabary for artistic calligraphy.

Grammar: Koduar is predominantly agglutinative, marking grammatical relations with suffix sequences attached to verbs and nouns. The basic word order is subject–object–verb (SOV). Nouns inflect for number and case, while verbs encode tense, aspect, mood, and evidentiality through affixes. Pronouns distinguish person and number, and demonstratives accompany noun phrases. There are also particle words that express mood and evidential stance.

Lexicon and usage: Core vocabulary covers everyday domains such as family, time, and nature, with a productive system for coinages and compounds. Loanwords exist from neighboring constructed languages within the same fictional world. Koduar is typically learned through grammars, dictionaries, and example corpora, with community-driven glossaries and pronunciation guides.
