kitobiy

Kitobiy is an Uzbek adjective meaning “bookish” or “relating to books or literature.” The word is formed from kitob (book) plus the adjectival suffix -iy, a productive pattern in Uzbek that yields terms describing a relationship to or characteristic of something. In usage, kitobiy typically refers to textual, bibliographic, or scholarly aspects rather than to imaginative or artistic ones. It is common in discussions of libraries, publishing, bibliographies, and literary criticism to denote material or topics that pertain to books as objects or to the domain of literature.

The term helps distinguish a text or discussion from those described as badiiy (fictional or artistic) or ilmiy (scientific or academic), though overlaps may occur in everyday language.
