kierukkana

Kierukkana is a Finnish word formed by adding the essive case ending -na/-nä to kierukka, yielding a meaning comparable to "as a spiral" or "in the form of a coil/cochlea." In Finnish grammar the essive expresses a temporary state, role or likeness, so kierukkana is used to indicate that something functions, appears or is regarded in the capacity of a spiral or coil.
