Kalsiumatomi, also known as calcium atomization, is a process used in the production of calcium metal. This method involves the reduction of calcium oxide (CaO) or calcium chloride (CaCl2) with aluminum. The reaction between these compounds and aluminum results in the formation of calcium metal and aluminum oxide (Al2O3). The process can be represented by the following chemical equation:

The calcium atomization process is typically carried out in an electric arc furnace. The raw materials, calcium oxide or calcium chloride and aluminum, are mixed and then introduced into the furnace.
