järjestikühendus

Järjestikühendus refers to a series connection in electronics and electrical engineering. In a järjestikühendus, components are connected in a single loop, one after another, so that the current flows through each component in sequence. This means that the total resistance of the circuit is the sum of the individual resistances of all components. If one component in a järjestikühendus fails or is removed, the entire circuit is broken, and no current can flow.

For example, in a simple series circuit with two resistors, R1 and R2, the total resistance (R_total) is calculated as R_total = R1 + R2. The current (I) is the same through both resistors, and the voltage drop across each resistor depends on its individual resistance according to Ohm's Law (V = IR). This type of connection is often used in applications where a specific voltage division is required or when a simple circuit path is needed. It is contrasted with rööpkühendus, or parallel connection, where components are connected across each other, allowing current to split and flow through multiple paths simultaneously.
