Jiste is a small settlement located in the Municipality of Gornji Grad in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It lies at an altitude of approximately 630 metres above sea level, situated on the western slopes of the Karawanks mountain range near the Austrian border. The village is positioned along the route that historically connected the region of Carinthia with the interior of Slovenia, and it is surrounded by dense mixed forests and alpine meadows.
